What is Development Planning?
Development Planning is a field of town planning that focuses on the application and assessment process for development proposals before local government and other regulatory authorities. It is at the centre of the valuable process of obtaining support for a change to the use or the intensity of use on a parcel of land. The town planner collates information from a wide range of specialist consultants, designers and engineers; packages that information together into a consistent proposal that responds to the relevant statutory planning controls; and then navigates an information sharing process with the authorities (depending on the complexity of a project).
